5 Celebs’ thoughts about sex tapes

Reese Witherspoon gave certain celebrities a verbal dressing down (so to speak) at the MTV Video Awards this week when she slammed starlets who had starred in sex tapes. But she isn’t the only one who has voiced her opinion about X-rated home movies. See what she and other stars had to say about on-screen lovin’.

Reese Witherspoon

Call it standing up for the “good girls” — or call it a tad judgmental. Either way, Witherspoon made it clear that she’s not a fan of female stars taking it off and then some for the cameras:

I get it, girls, that it’s cool to be a bad girl. But it is possible to make it in Hollywood without doing a reality show. When I came up in this business, if you made a sex tape, you were embarrassed and you hid it under your bed.

Jenny McCarthy

Now this is one sex tape a lot of people — especially those who grew up watching her in the ’90s — would pay big bucks for. But McCarthy has nothing but good things to say about hot at-home vids. In fact, she wishes she had one, she told Access Hollywood:

I’m kind of upset that I don’t. You know why? ‘Cause I’m really good.

Paris Hilton

The original queen of sex-tape fame, Hilton spoke out on Piers Morgan only a week ago about the sex tape with her then-boyfriend Rick Salomon that catapulted her into fame.

I just felt…just felt so betrayed. This was not some random guy; this was someone I was with for a few years…. And this is not what I planned. I didn’t want to be known as that. And now when people look at me they think that I’m something I’m not, just because of one incident, one night with someone who I was in love with. People assume ‘Oh, she’s a slut’ just because of one thing that happened to me, and it’s hard because I’ll have to live with that the rest of my life and explain it to my children. It’s something that’s changed my life forever and I’ll never be able to erase it.

Leighton Meester

A video of a woman who looked a lot like Meester made its rounds on the internet, but she assured Harper’s Bazaar that it was not, in fact, her — and that she understands how fast gossip can travel when you’re in the news anyway.

[The tape] is not real, so it makes me sort of sad. It’s unfortunate that it got carried as far as it did. I definitely understand the nature of people better now and that the mere allegation of something like that could be headline news. People think it’s real because somebody says it is.

Sandra Bullock

A sex tape with her estranged husband, Jesse James? Think again, Bullock told People magazine.

There is no sex tape,” she told People. “There never has been one and there never will be one.
