Josh Groban hopes to spread his love of the arts through his new Find Your Light Foundation.
You think it would be enough for a singer to have a booming voice, huge record sales and hoards of dedicated fans — but then again, most singers aren’t Josh Groban.
Groban — currently on his Straight to You tour in support of his album Illuminations — announced the rebranding of his Josh Groban Foundation to a new one focused on arts and culture education, the Find Your Light Foundation.
“For the last 7 years, the Josh Groban Foundation has been a come-what-may umbrella organization to help children in the many broken systems around the world. These have involved healthcare, food and shelter, education, and relief donations for tragedies that would occur without warning,” Groban, 30, wrote on his foundation’s website.
“It is with this sentiment and with great excitement that I announce that the Josh Groban Foundation is now the Find Your Light Foundation. This foundation will help to enrich the lives of young people through arts, education, and cultural awareness,” he said.
Groban added that plans for the new foundation include providing instruments and funding for arts programs, along with spreading the importance of arts and culture around the world through technology.
“The combination of my personal experience and belief that the arts in children’s and young adult’s lives help shape and change them for the better, and the sobering reality that these are the exact programs that are being cut from our schools and society at a drastic rate, make me more attuned than ever to the need for this focus,” he said.
The foundation is also raising money through a collaboration with Americans for the Arts. Those interested in donating can text ART to 50555 to make a $10 donation to support the cause.
“I have seen these opportunities change lives. It is my honor and privilege to be able to give back in this way and expand with all of your help,” Groban added.
