Emmy nominees were announced this morning and as expected Modern Family and Glee showed up to the party. Newbies The Big C and Game of Thrones also represented as strong contenders to take home a shiny new Emmy.
Melissa McCarthy and Joshua Jackson announced the nominees for the primetime Emmys bright and early this morning and favorites Modern Family and Gleemade the list as expected. Melissa McCarthy also got one of her own with a Lead Actress nominee for her show Mike & Molly.
The Big C and Game of Thrones, which generated a fair amount of buzz going into the Emmy nominee announcement, also got nods of their own. The Big C’s Laura Linney got a Lead Actress nod while Game of Thrones represented in the Best Drama category.
Modern Family rocked the Supporting Actor category with Ed O’Neill, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Eric Stonestreet and Ty Burrell getting nods. Many expected Friday Night Lights to pull through this year and not only did the series pick up a Best Drama nominee, its star Kyle Chandler did as well with an acting nod.
