Comic-Con is coming: Thursday’s TV line-up

Comic-Con mania starts this week and with the TCA press tour kicking off right after, TV fans can expect some serious fall 2011 preview dish to start landing over the next month. SheKnows has a look at what’s up first from Comic-Con. Sarah Michelle Gellar, Pee-wee Herman, Piper Perabo, Jason Momoa, Oded Fehr, Elijah Wood and Bruce Campbell are just a few of Thursday’s guests.

Comic-Con officially begins with its annual dizzying array of events, stars, exhibits and parties this week. There’s a Special Sneak Peek Pilot Screenings event the eve of Wednesday, July 20, 2011; but the panels kick off bright and early on Thursday, July 21 and run through Sunday, July 24.

Below is a list of Thursday’s highlights, beyond the autograph sessions and exhibits, but there’s so much more going on over the course of the weekend.

Friday through Saturday, fans will also get to watch upcoming episodes and hang with the crews fromTrue Blood,The Vampire Diaries, The Walking Dead, The Nine Lives of Chloe King, The Big Bang Theory, Bones, Chuck, Glee, Community, NCIS: LA, Nikita, Sons of Anarchy, Castle, It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Eureka, Falling Skies, Being Human, The Simpsons, Ugly American, Warehouse 13, Teen Wolf, Bob’s Burgers, Alpha, Green Lantern: The Animated Series, Spartacus: Vengeance and even Yo Gabba Gabba!

There will also be screenings and panels on upcoming series Alcatraz, Terra Nova, Grimm, Charlie’s Angels, The River, Death Valley, The Secret Circle, Lost Girl, ThunderCats and Locke & Key; along with a few intriguing girl-power panels like Saturday’sGirls Gone Genre, featuring female players in the male dominated sci-fi world.

We couldn’t possibly list the full Comic-Con opening day line-up, but here are some TV highlights from the day, so you can guess what dish is coming first. For panel times and info on other events, visit the Comic-Con website.

Ringer: A sneak peek of Sarah Michelle Gellar’s (Buffy the Vampire Slayer) new series about a woman who goes on the run after witnessing a murder and hides out by assuming the life of her wealthy identical twin. Panelists includes Gellar, costars Ioan Gruffudd (Fantastic Four), Nestor Carbonell (Lost, The Dark Knight) and Kristoffer Polaha (Life Unexpected) and executive producers Pam Veasey (CSI:NY), Nicole Snyder (Supernatural) and Eric Charmelo (Supernatural).

Game of Thrones: Co-executive producer and writer George R. R. Martin moderates a panel and Q&A with stars Emilia Clarke (Daenerys Targaryen), Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (Ser Jaime Lannister), Peter Dinklage (Tyrion Lannister), Kit Harington (Jon Snow) and Jason Momoa (Khal Drogo).

Showtime: Tired of Ordinary Television: The crews behind Dexter and Shameless give sneak peeks into the new seasons, plus an exclusive look at new original series Homeland. Panelists include Dexter‘s Michael C. Hall (Dexter), C. S. Lee (Masuka), David Zayas (Batista) and guest star Colin Hanks; Shameless‘ William H. Macy and Emmy Rossum; Homeland’s Morena Baccarin and more.

Burn Notice: The Fall of Sam Axe: Bruce Campbell (Sam) and Burn Notice showrunner Matt Nix preview the made-for-TV movie that uncovers the story of what happened before Sam teamed up with Michael Weston and Fiona.

Covert Affairs: Oded Fehr moderates a panel with stars Piper Perabo (Annie), Christopher Gorham (Auggie), Sendhil Ramamurthy (Jai), Kari Matchett (Joan), Anne Dudek (Danielle) and Peter Gallagher (Arthur) and executive producers Doug Liman, Chris Ord, Matt Corman and Dave Bartis. Plus, fans will get a sneak peek at upcoming episodes!

Psych: Kurt Fuller (Woody the Coroner) moderates a panel with stars James Roday (Shawn), Dulé Hill (“Gus”), Maggie Lawson (O’Hara), Tim Omundson (Lassiter), Kirsten Nelson (Chief Vick) and Corbin Bernsen (Henry) and the exec producers. Plus, fans will get a sneak peek at season six.

A One on One with Pee-wee Herman: The pop icon celebrates the 25th anniversary of Pee-wee’s Playhouse; talks about going toe-to-toe with Bette Midler and Lady Gaga with his Emmy nominated HBO special, The Pee-wee Herman Show on Broadway; debuts a clip from the show and answers fan questions.

Awake: Jason Isaacs (Harry Potter) and executive producers Howard Gordon (24) and Kyle Killen (The Beaver) offer an exclusive screening of Awake, the new NBC sci-fi drama about the power of the mind, and answer a few fan questions.

Wilfred: Screening and Q&A with Elijah Wood, Jason Gann, Fiona Gubelmann and Dorian Brown and exec producers, who discuss FX’s new comedy series about a guy who sees his neighbor’s dog as a crude, surly man in a cheap dog suit.

Archer: Screening and Q&A with the cast of this animated series, including H. Jon Benjamin (Archer), Aisha Tyler (Lana Kane), Chris Parnell (Cyril), Judy Greer (Cheryl/Carol), Amber Nash (Pam) and George Coe (Woodhouse).

Deadliest Warrior: Vampires vs. Zombies: Spike TV and its Deadliest Warrior franchise are going to finally answer the question: Which of these mythical creatures would come out on top in a fight to the finish?

Battlestar: So Say We All: Richard Hatch (Tom Zarek, Capt. Apollo) hosts a round table and Q&A session with Michael Taylor (Battlestar Galactica, Caprica, Blood and Chrome), Dr. Kevin Grazier (BG science consultant) and surprise guests — could it be Edward James Olmos?

Fanboy & Chum Chum: Tighty, Whitey & Mighty: Q&A with the voice cast, including Jamie Kennedy. Plus, creator Eric Robles, executive producer Steve Tompkins and supervising producer Jason Meier offer another peek into the latest wild adventure of animation’s most insane duo.
