Tony Bennett & Carrie Underwood perform on Blue Bloods

There’s a big party scheduled on the Blue Bloods premiere in September and Grammy favorites Tony Bennett and Carrie Underwood are booked for a cameo performance. The pair duet together for a big fundraiser, where they rub elbows with Blue Bloods Tom Selleck and Bridget Moynahan.

Tony Bennett and Carrie Underwood teamed up for his upcoming album Duets II, due out September 20, and they’re bringing their duet magic to the Blue Bloods sophomore premiere on September 23.

Bennett and Underwood will play themselves in the guest spot, which has them in New York for a fundraiser that Frank Reagan (Tom Selleck) and Erin Reagan-Boyle (Bridget Moynahan) are attending for the newly appointed mayor. After some meet and greet with the Reagans, Bennett and Underwood will perform It Had to Be You at the big event.

“Having musical legend Tony Bennett and the hugely talented country music star Carrie Underwood perform on our show is a true gift. The talent that they bring together is amazing,” said executive producer Leonard Goldberg. “We’re looking forward to an exciting second season premiere with a story that is certain to provoke debate, and are thrilled that Tony and Carrie can be a part of it.”

In honor of his 85th birthday, Bennett recorded a follow-up to his hit album Duets and this time, he collaborated with the likes of Underwood, Andrea Bocelli, Michael Bublé, Mariah Carey, Natalie Cole, Sheryl Crow, Aretha Franklin, Josh Groban, Faith Hill, Norah Jones, Lady Gaga, k. d. lang, John Mayer, Willie Nelson, Queen Latifah, Alejandro Sanz and Amy Winehouse.
