Katy Perry has come a long way since her I Kissed a Girl days. She’s a trendsetter, perfume creator and 2011 MTV Video Music Awards nominee leader. The girl who grew up to take the music world by storm is only just beginning.
Katy Perry has put her stamp all over this year’s MTV Video Music Awards. With nine nominations total, her hit songs Firework, Teenage Dream, E.T. and Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.) are expected to leave the California girl a big winner when the VMAs hit on August 28.
Born and raised in Santa Barbara, California, Katy Perry has been a force in music since she debuted her hit I Kissed a Girl, so it’s no wonder she’s the top girl on the MTV VMA nominee list. We thought it would be fitting to take a video look back at how her videos have evolved from I Kissed a Girl to Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.).
Katy Perry took cherry chapstick to a whole new level with her song I Kissed a Girl and the video wasn’t bad either. The concept was simple and sexy and used raw camera close-ups to give a taste of her super-sexy song. Check it out.

Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.) is just plain cool and brings out Katy Perry’s alter ego Kathy Beth Terry. Not only did she shoot the video like a mini movie, she added some fun cameos from Rebecca Black and threw in a few ’80s stars. This by far is our favorite!
Which is your favorite Katy Perry video? Do you think she’ll clean house at the MTV Video Music Awards on August 28?
