Steven Spielberg made a ton of dinosaur fans happy when he confirmed that there will be a Jurassic Park 4 coming in the next few years.
A ton of things have happened already at Comic-Con in San Diego: Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart debuted Breaking Dawn scenes and Carey Mulligan dished on her new film with Ryan Gosling, Drive. However, the biggest revelation of all is that there will be a Jurassic Park IV!
“We have a story,” director Steven Spielberg told the 6,000+ fans at his panel. “We have a writer who is writing the treatment and hopefully we are going to make Jurassic Park 4 in all of our foreseeable futures, hopefully in the next two or three years.”
That’s great news for fans — many assumed the fourth installment of the popular franchise would never happen since author Michael Crichton and dinosaur creator Stan Winston are both deceased.
“I think we’ve told the story. I think it’s done,” Jurassic Park actor Sam Neill said. “Stan Winston, who made those beautiful dinosaurs, died. So, no Stan, no Jurassic Park really… [and author] Michael Crichton died too.”
So many questions still remain: Who will star in the films — the original actors, or a new crew?
We expect to hear much, much, much more about this in the coming months — and it’s about time!
