Maroon 5’s Adam Levine is finding huge success on NBC’s hit show The Voice, and is taking it a step further — with a new sitcom. No, not based on The Voice.
Adam Levine is teaming up with NBC to bring fans a new scripted show based on a karaoke bar. A rep for Adam Levine, who will executive produce the new single-camera sitcom, told SheKnows the project is in active development.
That being said, we’re not completely sure how much of the time will be spent on the patrons who take the mic, as the show will fuse story with musical elements.
Also along for the ride is Jake Kasdan who will reportedly direct the show which will be produced by 20th Century Fox TV and Chernin Entertainment.
Gene Hong, who happens to be a friend of the Maroon 5 singer, will pen the show — ironically enough, the two are said to have met in a karaoke bar.
This is an exciting new venture for Adam Levine, a fan favorite on The Voice as a judge and as a mentor.
Is there anything Levine can’t tackle in the entertainment industry? We dare you to try and find something — trust us, you won’t. The Voice is set to make its second season return after the Super Bowl in February.
