Kids, get ready to rock some science when you get back to school.

Will.i.am, frontman for The Black Eyed Peas, is the executive producer of i.am.FIRST: Science is Rock & Roll, set to air 7 p.m. Sunday Aug. 14 on ABC.

The special enlists a mega-haul of A-listers, including Justin Bieber, Jack Black, Bono, Miranda Cosgrove, Miley Cyrus, Josh Duhamel, Britney Spears, Snoop Dogg, Justin Timberlake, Steven Tyler, Willow Smith and The Black Eyed Peas in a drive to make science cool.

“A spotlight is on Michael Jordan and people see him and the youth grow up to want to be like Mike,” said will.i.am in a promotional video. “What we need to do now is put a spotlight on Dean Kaman so kids grow up and want to be like Dean Kaman.”

Who is Dean Kamen? He’s the acclaimed scientist who invented the Segway and founded the FIRST group in 1989. FIRST stands for For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology and its mission is to inspire an appreciation of science and technology in young people.
