Jessica Alba gives her new baby girl a heavenly name

Jessica Alba welcomed her second child, a girl, this weekend and announced the happy news today on Facebook. Find out all the details of her baby daughter, including her heavenly baby name!

Spy Kids 4 actress Jessica Alba welcomed a baby girl weighing 7 lbs and measuring 19 inches long. This is the second child for Alba and her husband, Cash Warren, who have a 3-year-old daughter named Honor.

So, what did Jessica Alba name her baby girl?

Haven Garner Warren!

“Cash and I are so excited to announce the birth of our daughter, Haven Garner Warren,” Alba wrote on her Facebook page. “She was born on Saturday, weighed 7lbs, and was 19 inches long. Healthy and happy! Big Sister Honor couldn’t be more excited about the new addition to our family. Thank you for all of your support during my pregnancy. It means the world to me.”

Haven is an English baby name that means place of safety or shelter. Although it is listed as a boy’s name, it also sounds great as a girl’s name. The name was ranked number 651 in the Social Security Administration’s most recent lists of top 1000 baby names, and it peaked in 2009 at 567. In contrast, the name Heaven was ranked 324.

Garner is also an English name meaning, “keeper of grain.”

It is interesting to note that both Honor and Haven have names that start with the letter H. This is one of the popular baby name trends of the year, possibly thanks in part to the Kardashian sisters with their K names (Kim, Khloe, Kourtney, Kendall, Kylie).

No word on the meaning behind the name Haven, but Alba did find out the sex of the baby so she had plenty of time to land on the perfect baby name.

“We tell our family but we don’t tell anyone outside of that,” Alba said, shortly after finding out the sex of her baby.
