By now, every joke about The Situation being banned from wearing Abercrombie clothes has been made, but he’s getting the last laugh. Read on to see what happened to the clothing chain’s stock after they tried to take their clothes off of The Situation’s back.
Telling the cast of Jersey Shore they can’t wear your clothes isn’t the smartest idea — just ask Abercrombie and Fitch. The clothing chain’s stock is feeling the heat from offering Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino and other cast members money to not wear their clothes.
In a statement made from Abercrombie, the retailer said, “We are deeply concerned that Mr. Sorrentino’s association with our brand could cause significant damage to our image. We understand that the show is for entertainment purposes, but believe this association is contrary to the aspirational nature of our brand, and may be distressing to many of our fans. We have also extended this offer to other members of the cast, and are urgently waiting a response.”
Those are fighting words and Jersey Shore’s The Situation came back with the following: “Looks like Abercrombie got themself into a Situation!” He followed it up with an interesting link to a CNN report saying Abercrombie’s stock had taken a nine percent dive.
See, it’s never good to piss off a Jersey boy!
Pauly D added of Abercrombie, “Hmmm if they don’t want us to wear those clothes why make GTL shirts?” In case you don’t know what he means, he’s referencing a shirt like the one pictured above.
We’re just going to throw it out there, why in the world is having The Situation, Pauly D or any of the Jersey Shore misfits bad for business? Can they possibly be any worse than half-naked models?
We want to know what you think of this situation — pun totally intended!
