Jennifer Aniston is helping her once-estranged mother recover from a stroke.
After years of estrangement Jennifer Aniston and her mom have put their problems behind them — and Jennifer was the first to rush to her mom’s side when she suffered a stroke this weekend.
Nancy Dow, Aniston’s 75-year-old mother, is in serious condition in a Los Angeles-area hospital after suffering a debilitating stroke. Aniston rushed to see her mother, with her boyfriend in tow.
Sources say live-in boyfriend Justin Theroux stayed outside while a teary Aniston visited with her mom, who is unable to speak.
Aniston’s troubled relationship with her mother goes back to 1996, when Dow gave a tabloid interview about her daughter, who was experiencing wild fame from her role as Rachel on Friends. In 1999 Dow wrote a memoir detailing Aniston’s childhood and rise to fame, fanning the flames even higher. Things got so bad that Aniston did not invite her mother to her 2000 wedding to Brad Pitt.
But by 2009 the two had reconciled.
“It’s good. It’s OK. Things are now fine between us,” Aniston told the New York Post. “All of that is over, and we’re in touch with one another. We speak, and it’s all over.”
Aniston’s rep refused to comment on Dow’s medical status, saying “This is a private family matter.”
