Tori Spelling is afraid she’ll screw up her kids

Tori Spelling talks to Parenting magazine about her fears as a mother.

It’s a lingering fear of every parent: How badly will you screw up your kids? Tori Spelling has the exact same fear, but like all the other moms out there she is simply doing the best she can.

Spelling sat down with Parenting magazine to chat about the trials and tribulations of mommyhood.

“There are days when I struggle with wanting to be a full-time, stay-at-home mom, and feeling guilty about that because I work,” said Spelling. “There’s this one mom at school who’ll be like, ‘Oh, we’re having this playdate or whatever, can you come?’ Recently, when I said I couldn’t, she said, ‘Oh, you never go to anything.’ That hit me really hard.”

“I write books where I tell a lot about our lives, and as I write, I do think, ‘Will they be okay knowing this one day?'” Spelling said of her fears of a public life adversely affecting Liam and Stella — and the new little on she has on the way. “I want to be really open with them, and I want them to be open with me.”

“I’m giving my kids the best tools I can, so they have the attitude that ‘If I find love, great; if not, it’ll happen [eventually].'”

Tori Spelling is expecting her third child with husband Dean McDermott soon — the gender is a surprise! In the meantime, check out her interview and adorable Halloween-themed photoshoot with the family in the Oct. issue of Parenting, on newsstands today.
