Ghostbusters is coming back to the big screen

The Stay-Puft Marshmallow Man is back… and this time it’s personal. Read on to find out where you can see Ghostbusters back on the big screen.

Good news, Ghostbusters fans: the classic film starring Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Ernie Hudson, Sigourney Weaver and Harold Ramis is getting a big screen re-release, just in time for Halloween!

Everyone’s favorite rag-tag team of scientists will be back on the big screen on Thursday, Oct. 11 and run every Thursday until Halloween. You’ll be able to see Dr. Venkman and the gang as they save the world from ghosts, ghouls, and Mr. Stay Puft.

Been awhile since you watched Ghostbusters? Here’s a little refresher:

In Ghostbusters, University parapsychologists Venkman (Murray), Dr. Raymond Stanz (Aykroyd) and Dr. Egon Spengler (Ramis) lose a research grant when their experiment methodology is proven to be bogus. The team decides to go into business for themselves and open Ghostbusters, a ghost removal service. After struggling to get on their feet, they are summoned to investigate the strange happenings in Dana Barrett’s (Weaver) Central Park West apartment. What they discover is that all of Manhattan is being besieged by ghosts and other worldly demons through a portal in her building.

Ghostbusters will show in approximately 500 theatres across the US on October 13th, 20th, and 27th, one showtime each day, in 2K digital with 5.1 surround sound. Please check local listings for showtimes. Ghostbusters will also be showing in select theatres in Canada and in various international markets,” Sony Pictures Entertainment told SheKnows.

The re-release is the perfect set-up for the rumored Ghostbusters 3 that Aykroyd claims is ready for filming. In the mean time, we’ll keep our fingers crossed and look forward to seeing Ghostbusters back on the big screen!
