The Dancing with the Stars contestants tackled either the jive or quickstep this week. Read on to see who danced to the top and who fell flat.
Did you miss Ron Artest, a.k.a. Metta World Peace, this week on Dancing with the Stars or did the remaining contestants keep you interested?
The Dancing with the Stars contestants were tasked at performing either the jive or quickstep this week — some of them kept up, while others lost speed.
Here’s how the competition stacked up…
Hope and Maks (19/30): Hope Solo and Maks Chmerkovskiy got funky with a jive.
This girl moved fast and furious and we have to ask — what is the secret to her abs?
Len Goodman got a kiss on the head from Hope, but it wasn’t enough to sway him. Despite the dance being, “First out, first class,” Len thought her timing was off.
Kristin and Mark (22/30): Mark Ballas had to pull Kristin Cavallari out of her shell this week with the quickstep and, while the judges thought she was “stunning,” we think it was smoke and mirrors.
David and Kym (18/30): David Arquette was manic and wild this week and Kym Johnson was worried in the pre-taped rehearsal package — but we kind of liked it.
He’s a performer and the jive was the perfect dance for him to entertain us with. If he can get his technical side down, he could win this. Did anyone else notice Courteney and Coco were back in the audience?
Elisabetta and Val (21/30): Elisabetta Canalis and Val Chmerkovskiy are not on the same page when they dance. Their quickstep was slow and there’s more than just a language barrier holding these two back.
You could see it was better, but her potential is not being lived up to. The judges were split. Len thought it wasn’t great, while Carrie Ann Inaba thought she nailed it. We’ll leave this one up to the fans.
Rob and Cheryl (21/30): There is a dancer inside Rob Kardashian and Cheryl Burke is going to bring it out of him. Rob and Cheryl danced to a surf-themed jive and all we can say is, “Kim who?”
Carrie Ann Inaba set the record straight — Rob Kardashian can dance “better than Kim Kardashian.” He’s turning into a real leading man.
Carson and Anna (18/30): Carson Kressley can do no wrong — even if he technically isn’t perfect. Carson and Anna Trebunskaya danced a quirky quickstep that left the judges impressed with his entertainment level and somewhat unimpressed by his footwork.
Best line of the night comes from Len. He said if he held a fork and knife like Carson holds Anna “he’d starve to death.”
Ricki and Derek (23/30): Team D-Rickilous hit it hard with their jive this week. Derek Hough pushed Ricki Lake just enough to get the best from her, but not too much as to make her crumble.
She kept up and if things keep going her way, she could go far in the competition.
Chaz and Lacey (17/30): Chaz Bono was afraid his knees would give out during his quickstep with Lacey Schwimmer, so they took out a few steps, but it didn’t help.
You could tell he was in pain and it was way too slow. It’s kind of sad, because we wanted him to do so much better.
Chynna and Tony (21/30): Chynna Phillips and Tony Dovolani were at the top of the leader board last week, but did their jive impress the judges ? Yes and no.
Carrie Ann Inaba thought she might have been “injured” and Len Goodman said it was “good” but it wasn’t “great.” Everything was there, but she didn’t own it.
Nancy and Tristan (21/30): Did we seriously just watch Nancy Grace do a good quickstep and have a nip slip? Yes we did. She and Tristan MacManus did a “proper” quickstep despite having a meltdown in practice and Nancy giving us a nip slip. Don’t act like you didn’t notice the camera pan away and the “European” version comment.
As Len Goodman said, it was “refreshing.” Carrie Ann said she loved the “team work.”
J.R. and Karina (22/30): Ladies and gentlemen, J.R. Martinez and Karina Smirnoff are in the building! They were on the top of the leader board last week and everyone was buzzing about the premiere. This week, his jive proved he’s “born to dance.”
Bruno said it was the “dance of the night” and we couldn’t agree more. Who cares that there was a lift? Let the man dance his butt off!
What did you think of this week’s Dancing with the Stars? Who do you think is going home?
