Rock and Roll Hall of Fame: Guns N’Roses nominated, Bon Jovi snubbed

Guns N’Roses, Joan Jett and Heart have all been nominated for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame class of 2012, while Bon Jovi gets snubbed.

It appears like this year Guns N’ Roses is in, while Bon Jovi is out! This year’s group of nominees is an exciting bunch, with Guns N’ Roses, Joan Jett, Heart, Beastie Boys, Red Hot Chili Peppers, War, Donovan, Donna Summer and Laura Nyro all hoping for their chance to be the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame class of 2012.

Other first-time nominees this year include the Cure, Eric B. and I Rakim, the Spinners, Freddie King, Rufus with Chaka Khan and the Small Faces.

Groups have to prove they can stand the test of time to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, as acts aren’t even eligible to be nominated until it is has been 25 years since the release of their first single.

There are some great groups in the mix, but many are wondering why Bon Jovi has been snubbed for a nomination into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. They were nominated last year, failed to get inducted and didn’t even get a nomination this year.

If it makes Jon, Richie Sambora and the rest of the group feel any better, Boston and the Cars also failed to get nominations this year.

The induction ceremony will take place on April 14th, 2012 at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum in Cleveland, Ohio.
