Trailer debut for Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close

The first trailer for Stephen Daldry’s new drama Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close has been released. The 9/11 inspired film is designed to pull at your heartstrings and forces you to focus on the important things in life.

Tom Hanks and Sandra Bullock are taking you on an emotional rollercoaster. The Oscar winning actors both star in director Stephen Daldry’s upcoming film Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close. The film’s premise focuses on love and loss after the devastating events of September 11.

Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close hinges on the performance of child actor Thomas Horn, who plays a 9-year-old named Oskar Schell. The film follows Oskar as he goes on a search to find a lock that matches a key his father left after he was killed in the terrorist attacks. His search takes him all across New York where he encounters various people including Max von Sydow, James Gandolfini, Viola Davis and John Goodman.

Tom Hanks plays the role of Oskar’s father, while Sandra Bullock is his mourning mother. Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close will need their star power to make a dent in this year’s holiday box office. The film is scheduled to open in limited theaters on Christmas Day and nationwide on January 20.

The weeks before and after Christmas will be filled with plenty of tentpoles including two Steven Spielberg productions: The Adventures of Tintin: Secret of the Unicorn and War Horse. There’s also Tom Cruise’sMission Impossible: Ghost Protocol and David Fincher’sThe Girl with the Dragon Tattoo.

Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close is based on a novel (of the same name) written by Jonathan Safran Foer.
