Jennifer Aniston supports Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Jennifer Aniston took time from her busy promotional schedule for Five to visit real-life breast cancer patients in Virginia.

Jennifer Aniston took a special interest in women suffering from breast cancer when she joined Demi Moore and Alicia Keys as a director for a short film within Five, a new Lifetime movie production.

Now, Aniston, 42, spent some time with Dr. Jill Biden — the wife of Vice President Joe Biden — when she toured the Inova Alexandria Hospital at Mark Center on October 3 in Alexandria, Va.

Aniston was visibly emotional when she connected with women at the hospital in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. She later screened Five in Washington D.C. ahead of the world premiere next Monday, Oct. 10.

The girlfriend of Justin Theroux talked about her own breast health — and what she’s doing to keep her girls healthy — during an interview last week.

“I was 36, 37,” Aniston told USA Today of her first mammogram. “I self-check all the time, and I’ve been doing it regularly for the last couple of years.” Filming Five had a huge impact on Aniston. “I just actually had my mammogram a couple of weeks ago and it was the first time that tears (were) streaming down my face while the woman was telling me to hold (the) pose.”

The film has received mixed reviews from critics, though anything that combines Aniston, Moore, Keys and breast cancer awareness and prevention is bound to be a hit that resonates with women.
