Frances Bean Cobain has decided to spend some of her trust money, courtesy of her father, Nirvana rocker Kurt Cobain. Her first splurge? A million-dollar home in Los Angeles.
Frances Bean Cobain may be the daughter of troubled Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain and Courtney Love, but she seems to have a fairly sensible head on her shoulders. The 19-year-old invested $1.8 million of her huge trust fund into a Los Angeles Spanish-style home.
The home is 3,350 square feet and has 4 bedrooms, 3.5 baths, a media room, a terrace, stained glass windows and vintage light fixtures and hardware. The home has a primo location as well, as it is located only a few minutes from Sunset Strip. You can check out a photo of the home below.
Frances inherited 37% of her father’s estate when she turned 18 last August. Can we expect mom Courtney to be visiting her at her new house? Don’t hold your breath! The two have a very strained relationship and Love was court-ordered to stay away from Frances last year.
“My daughter lives in a mansion by herself. A 17-year-old getting $40,000 a month is outrageous to me, Love told the Daily Mail last August, talking about what Frances’ life would be like once she got her trust money.
Love also said that Frances doesn’t want a life of huge fame, although she was offered several high-profile acting roles. “Frances is so beautiful, but she doesn’t want to be famous. She was offered the part of Bella in the Twilight movies, and Tim Burton wanted her for Alice in Wonderland,” Love said. “But she wants to go to college: she’s very good at graphic novels.”
Frances is currently attending school at Bard College in upstate New York, so no word how much time she will actually spend at her new house.
