After Paul McCartney and Nancy Shevell’s sedate wedding ceremony at Marylebone Register Office earlier in the day on Oct. 9, it was time to kick back and party! What the host, hostess and guests didn’t expect were two extra knocks at the door from the local police department!
It could have been the swinging ’60s all over again when parties went on at Paul McCartney’s St. John’s Wood home until the wee hours of the morning and police would have been called to ask him to tone it down.
Except now it was 2011 and McCartney was enjoying his wedding reception to third wife Nancy Shevell perhaps a bit too much!
McCartney was visited by the local police, who were called to the former Beatle’s home on Sunday evening. He was celebrating his nuptials with 100 guests and was having a grand old time when he recieved a knock on the door.
Head of noise and licensing at Westminster Council, Andrew Ralph, said that council workers visited a home in the area regarding a noise complaint from one of the neighbors.
He stated, “A complaint was received about an address in St. John’s Wood. Officers visited and the volume was reduced. No further action is being taken.”
Guests included Kate Moss and husband Jamie Hince, the Rolling Stones’ Ronnie Wood, Pink Floyd’s David Gilmour and guitarist Jeff Beck to name a few.

Celebrity DJ Mark Ronson took charge of the music for the night’s events, and he played not only contemporary hits, but plenty of classics including those by The Beatles and The Rolling Stones.
The happy couple basked in the glow from the new level their relationship had taken. Nancy showed off her beautiful Neil Lane eternity band, with five carats of square cut diamonds in a platinum setting.
It pairs well with the rock McCartney gave Shevell when he asked her to be his wife, a five-carat diamond art-deco ring, which he designed.
