Emma Watson heads to Oxford

From Hogwarts to Oxford, this actress is getting her higher education on.

Actress Emma Watson attended her first day of classes at Oxford University today, having transferred to England’s oldest and most prestigious educational institution after a short stint at Brown University.

Watson, who is worth an estimated $37 million, will be putting her acting and modeling career on hold for some time to pursue her degree.

The actress, who is also the face of Burberry’s campaign, posted a blog entry on her official web site, telling her fans that she’ll be spending less time online and more time buried deep in her books and that we won’t be hearing from her for some time.

The Harry Potter actress wrote on her blog, “To everyone who is starting a New School Year (sorry for those who have been at school for awhile Oxford starts late) Just [wanted] to say have a great term and good luck with all your work.”

“You might not hear from me for a while because I will be really busy studying but I wanted to just say hi and bye.”

That doesn’t mean though that Watson will be completely out of the public eye. She has recently wrapped production on in the upcoming film My Week With Marilyn opposite actress Michelle Williams and The Perks of Being a Wallflower with actor Logan Lerman.

The actress has also stated that she plans on studying at Oxford only temporarily, and will transfer back to Brown University in Rhode Island to complete her studies at the Ivy League school next year.
