The Adventures of Tintin: New trailer & fanboy featurette!

The Adventures of Tintin will be released in two months — but we have a couple of fantastic sneak peeks for you right now!

The Adventures of Tintinbased on a beloved series of comic books by Belgian writer Hergé, is getting the big screen treatment by none other than famed director Steven Spielberg. What’s this kids’ fantasy movie all about?

According to the film’s synopsis:

“Paramount Pictures and Columbia Pictures present The Adventures of Tintin directed by Steven Spielberg from a screenplay by Steven Moffat and Edgar Wright & Joe Cornish. Starring Jamie Bell (Billy Elliot, Defiance) as Tintin, the young reporter whose relentless pursuit of a good story thrusts him into a world of high adventure, and Daniel Craig (Quantum of Solace, Defiance) as the nefarious Red Rackham.

Based on the series of books The Adventures of Tintin by Hergé, the film is produced by Steven Spielberg, Peter Jackson and Kathleen Kennedy.”

The animated flick features motion capture by Bell, Craig and Andy Serkis and remains true to the book series — although that almost was not the case.

“We kept changing the script all through the shoot,” Steven Spielberg told The Hollywood Reporter. “We had an entire subplot we cut out. We shot it to thicken the plot, because the plots in all the Hergé books are very easy to understand and we tried to overly complicate them and realized that Hergé was right and we were wrong.”
