The show that sprung “Homey don’t play dat” is being revived, but it’s not going to be the exact same In Living Color we loved in the ’90s. Read on for the details…
Homey D. Clown and Fire Marshal Bill — we loved them back in the ’90s on In Living Color but would they fare well today?
Fox has announced In Living Color, the show that made us laugh with actors like Jim Carrey as Fire Marshal Bill and Damon Wayans as Homey D. Clown, is returning.

Before you get too excited and start popping popcorn like it’s going to be a weekly or nightly fixture — don’t. The show is being brought back as a special with hopes of high ratings that would possibly lend to a 2012-2013 series pickup.
Fox announced that In Living Color will be brought back for two half-hour specials. It’s being said the cast will revolve around a fresh new breed of talent, but series creator Keenen Ivory Wayans will act as the host for the specials.
So, no Homey D. Clown then? Details are still being kept quiet, so you never know what will change.

In Living Color, a sketch show that aired on Fox back in the ’90s, was home to a huge breed of talent who went on to become successful in some form.
A few notable names that came out of camp In Living Color include Jamie Foxx, David Alan Grier and the original fly girl herself, Jennifer Lopez.
Of course, Jennifer Lopez did the dancing and not the comedy, but you get the point. It gave people a name and got comedians and actors exposure.

The two new half-hour specials are said to be scheduled to air on Fox sometime in the spring of 2012, but no exact date has been released at this time.
For those diehard In Living Color fans, we want to hear from you. Without knowing much about the two new specials, if you could bring any of the old cast back, who would you want to see again?
We love Damon Wayans as Homey D. Clown, but bumbling Fire Marshal Bill is hysterical too!
