Melanie Brown’s daughter files battery charges from father

Melanie Brown‘s 12-year-old daughter files a police report against her father.

All might not be well for former Spice Girl Melanie Brown and her family. The usually cheerful celebrity mom, who just gave birth to her third daughter last month, dealt with some heavy family drama as her 12-year-old daughter, Phoenix Chi, filed a battery police report against her father, Jimmy Gulzar.

According to Radar Online, trouble arose a few weeks ago when Gulzar refused to let Phoenix leave his house after his custodial time with her. A source close to the situation tells the website, “The cops had to be called to enforce the court order, which states that Mel has primary custody of Phoenix. There was a standoff for several hours. When it became clear that Gulzar wasn’t going to turn Phoenix over, LAPD responded and told Jimmy he had to allow his daughter to leave his apartment.”

“When Phoenix came out, she was extremely distraught and very upset. The police immediately took her to the police station to fill out a report,” the source added.

The police report states, “Victim is suspect’s daughter. Suspect has visitation rights with daughter. When daughter attempted to leave suspect’s house to return to mother’s home, suspect grabbed victim’s arm refusing to let her leave.”

Unfortunately for Phoenix, her mother is currently shooting the Australian version of X Factor in Sydney, Australia with her husband, Stephen Belafonte, her newborn baby, Madison and four-year-old daughter, Angel, from her previous relationship to actor Eddie Murphy.

The former Spice Girl was married to Gulzar from 1998 to 2000. Brown has primary custody of their daughter, while Gulzar has visitation rights of up to four times a month.
