It looks like LeAnn Rimes is going the distance in trying to get the media to pay a little attention to her, however she might not get the type of publicity she’s hoping for wearing a controversial costume like this.
Plus, she might have to try even harder than tweeting out a risque photo given the fact that Kim Kardashian filed for divorce and Jessica Simpson finally confirmed her pregnancy today.
The country singer posted a photo of her as a pregnant bride smoking a cigarette on her Twitter account. The chart topper also issued a disclaimer, letting her fans know it was all done for the sake of some good Halloween fun.
“Let’s put up a disclaimer now,” she wrote on her Twitter page. “WE DO NOT condone anything that has to do with our costume! All in fun!”
Rimes really got into character, turning to hairdresser-to-the-stars Chris McMillan for her very eighties-inspired hair style along with a fake arm band tattoo and prosthetic baby bump. “Wow, the hairspray,” she also added. “Never this much since I was 8.”
Rimes, who is married to television actor Eddie Cibrian, seemed to be in better spirits after involving herself in a Twitter spat with her husband’s ex-wife, Brandi Glanville. Rimes took some heat when Glanville told Life & Style Weekly that she is “inappropriate” with the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star’s two children, Mason, 8, and Jake, 4, whom she shares with Cibrian.
“When she has a child of her own, she’ll understand how a lot of the things she says and does regarding my children can be construed as really inappropriate,” Glanville told the magazine.
We can understand where Glanville is coming from. Rimes dressing up as a pregnant bride and smoking a cigarette might not help her win any sympathy from her critics, that’s for sure.
