Kate Middleton’s new title: Britain’s best dressed!

Harper’s Bazaar UK has spoken: Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, is the best dressed person in all of Great Britain!

Because Duchess of Cambridge, Countess of Strathearn, and Baroness Carrickfergus isn’t quite enough of a mouthful, Kate Middleton can now add another title to her royal name: Britain’s best dressed.

The royal beauty was honored by Harper’s Bazaar UK in the number one spot of their Britain’s Best Dressed 2011 list as judged by designer Antonio Berardi, milliner Philip Treacy, designer Roksanda Ilincic, editor Lucy Yeomans and editor-at-large Kim Hersov.

“Catherine’s incredible style evolution has gripped us all,” Yeomans wrote. “She gave us the year’s — if not the century’s — most thrilling fashion moment at the royal wedding, and is shaping up as an amazing ambassador for British designers and the high street.”

Kate’s status as the people’s fashion icon stems from her gift of mixing high-priced designer pieces with off-the-rack discount clothing from stores like Top Shop. Her classic, ladylike style has started an entire fashion movement for young women who want to bare far less skin.

Some of Kate Middleton‘s best outfits have included the beautiful pink beaded gown she wore to her first public engagement post-nuptials, the cream ruffled dress she wore in her engagement photos and later recycled on her trip to Canada, the lovely lilac frock she wore to the BAFTA gala in LA and a navy military-inspired dress with matching hat worn to present medals to the Irish Guards, as well as her stunning handmade wedding gown.

Others honored in the Britain’s Best Dressed 2011 list include Florence Welch of Florence + the Machine for her “fairytale and magical, but powerful” style, actress Tilda Swinton because “she has balls,” supermodel Kate Moss, and actresses Keira Knightley, Alexa Chung, Emma Watson and Thandie Newton.
