The mother of Hugh Grant‘s baby has been revealed — and it is not who most of us thought.
Hugh Grant recently welcomed a baby girl into his confirmed bachelor life, but the mother of all mysteries remained: Who is his baby mama?
While there has been much conjecture over the baby’s paternity — the most frequent guess being his ex-girlfriend Jemima Khan — the smart money is now on a Chinese actress with whom Grant had a short fling in January.
Tinglan Hong had a short-lived romance with Hugh Grant at the beginning of the year and was spotted heavily pregnant in London shortly before the birth, according to the Daily Mail. She is believed to have moved to a home close by Grant’s pricey southwest London neighborhood.
The actor, who at 51 is 19 years older than 32-year-old Hong, is said to have spent just half an hour visiting with his baby the day after the birth before rushing off to a golf tournament in Scotland. Interestingly, his ex-partner Elizabeth Hurley got engaged at the very same tournament.
Will Hugh Grant eventually become a more involved father and begin co-parenting with Hong or whomever his baby mama might be? Only time will tell, but in the past the actor has said he relished the idea of being a dad. In an interview with Vogue four years ago he said, “As much as I adore myself, I’m quite keen to find someone else to care about more. I remember reading a Warren Beatty quote when he finally had children and said what a relief it was not to be all me, me, me.”
