Turns out not even Piers Morgan can do it all. Morgan will be leaving his role as a judge on America’s Got Talent in order to focus on his CNN show, Piers Morgan Tonight.
The America’s Got Talent judges’ table is going to be missing Piers Morgan when it returns — man, now who’s going to buzz those little kids with big dreams?
Piers Morgan just can’t do it all, which brought him to the decision to drop America’s Got Talent and focus on his CNN show, Piers Morgan Tonight.
Piers Morgan Tweeted Wednesday, Nov. 9: “I’m leaving America’s Got Talent after 6 wonderful years. Turned out that juggling’s harder than it looks, so I’m going to focus on CNN.”
Piers Morgan added during a video announcement via CNN, “I’m going to focus on what’s going to be a huge year here at CNN, with the upcoming election.”
He went on to add of the AGT cast and crew: “I’d like to thank NBC, Fremantle and my great friend Simon Cowell for giving me such a wonderful opportunity on that amazing show. And I want to congratulate Sharon, Howie and Nick, who will doubtless be very relieved to learn they no longer have to work with me.”

It’s not surprising that Piers Morgan would be getting a bit burned out by it all.
His CNN show is a demanding beast on which he interviews a mix of personalities that includes celebrities and political figures.
He once told The Hollywood Reporter: “It’s been a weird experience to go from interviewing [Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin] Netanyahu in Jerusalem and then coming back and doing a couple days of auditions. But I like it.”
Turn out “liking it” isn’t enough to keep him doing it all.

One of his fellow America’s Got Talent judges, Howie Mandel, tweeted in true comedic-style: “I guess I’m more annoying than I thought. I’ll miss you @piersmorgan.”
