How Kristen Wiig will save the planet with Matt Damon

Who needs scientists to help stop global warming? Saturday Night Live star Kristen Wiig has it all figured out.

Kristen Wiig knows a thing or two about being eco-friendly: She was named one of PETA’s Sexiest Vegetarians this year, after all. Now? She’s giving out advice on how to combat the increasing problem of global warming.

“I have three words for you guys: Global Breathing Initiative,” Wiig tells the off-camera guys in the video. “Every time we breathe, we release carbon dioxide, right? The star asks, ‘what if every person in the world holds their breath for one minute every day?'”

She did the calculations — and it’s a lot of carbon dioxide savings.

“It’s like taking a billion cars off the road,” she added. How can they promote it? They can use sexy celebrities like Matt Damon holding their breath in sexy photo shoots.

Okay, so it’s a Funny or Die clip, so she’s not exactly being serious.

Clips like these are exactly why this Saturday Night Live star is one of the most sought-after women in comedy. Wiig does deadpan comedy like no one else — and she really makes you believe she wants to prevent global warming through breathing conservation.

She is serious about the environment when she needs to be, though.

“I’m a vegetarian. I eat a lot of tofu and soy,” the Bridesmaids star told Health magazine. One thing she won’t be? A bride.

“I’ve been in a relationship for years now and we consider ourselves married but I don’t see the need for an actual wedding,” she said earlier this summer. “But babies, yes — I’d love to have kids.”

Lucky kids.
