Kris Humphries may currently be locked out of his NBA job and he may have recently been served divorce papers by Kim Kardashian, but that doesn’t mean he’s sitting at home devouring a tub of Ben & Jerry’s all alone.
While Kim Kardashian might be pretend-crying her eyes out over the demise of her 72-day marriage, Kris Humphries is turning to work to help him get through this difficult time in his life. Humphries held a press conference at New York City’s Trump SoHo hotel on Friday and announced a $150,000 endorsement deal with watch company Sector.
The NBA star, who has been unattached to a team after his contract with the New Jersey Nets expired, said he was delighted to sign a lucrative deal with the brand during the press conference.
Humphries even claimed the watch company was helping him get over his divorce woes, explaining, “I’m happy to be here. As you all know, this has been a difficult time in my life and I’m so grateful [for] my friends at Sector for their unwavering support.”
The out-of-work power forward claimed he was the ideal person to advertise the luxury Italian watches. He said: “It truly represents who I am both on and off the court. I’ve been a watch and fashion lover my entire life and a competitor and the no limit tag is really about how I approach my career.”
“Most of all, they really do have great watches,” he added.
Humphries is expected to rake in around $150,000 for the deal, which will no doubt come in handy as he struggles to find work during the NBA lockdown.
A portion of all Sector sales will go to Humphries’ charity, which helps fights childhood obesity.
