DWTS winner J.R. Martinez wants to make out with the trophy

J.R. Martinez won Dancing with the Stars, and now all he wants to do id make out with his trophy! Read what the winner had to say.

War hero turned ballroom champ J.R. Martinez took home the mirror-ball trophy on Dancing with the Stars last night, but don’t think he’ll be out carousing with the ladies in celebration. The vet says the only kissing partner he is interested in is his trophy!

The champ confessed his love for the symbol of his victory after the show last night.

“I want to sleep with this thing,” he told People after he and partner Karina Smirnoff beat out Rob Kardashian and Cheryl Burke.

“I want to kiss it. I want to polish it. I want to do everything,” he said.

Martinez also said the win was the highlight of the entire Dancing with the Stars experience, the culmination of “a lot of magical moments together on this show that’ll we’ll cherish and we’ll carry with us the rest of our lives.”

As for his Dancing partner Karina Smirnoff, while she is thrilled with her first win, she says Martinez will be sorely missed.

“The journey is ending and I don’t want it to end,” she said. “I don’t want to not see him every single day.”

Martinez’s win is more than just a victory for himself, it is an inspiration for burn victims everywhere. The former U.S. Army soldier (and All My Children star) was burned over 40 percent of his body while serving in Iraq in 2003. Since then, he has developed his acting career while advocating for burn victims and speaking of his experiences to veterans groups and schools. He will act as the Grand Marshal of the 2012 Rose Bowl Parade. Think he’ll bring the mirror-ball trophy with him?
