Selena Gomez has something to be thankful for this Thanksgiving: her mom is pregnant!
Selena Gomez revealed a secret on Twitter that she’s been keeping for a while — she’s going to be a big sister!
“Momma and Brian are finally letting me share the news… My mommys (sic) carrying my baby brother or sister :),” the 19-year-old actress and singer revealed the day after Thanksgiving.
Gomez’s mom, Mandy Dawn Teefey, married Brian Teefey in 2006. The mom-to-be gave birth to the superstar when she was 16 and later married Gomez’s father, Ricardo Joel Gomez. They divorced when she was five.
Gomez and her mom moved to Grand Prarie, Texas, after the divorce. They lived very frugally and often “from paycheck to paycheck.” That’s not a problem anymore!
“I remember when my parents broke up I didn’t understand it,” Gomez told J-14 last year. “I blamed my mom a lot… because I wanted a family so bad. I wanted to have my dad and my mom together. So it was really hard.”
“I remember just being really angry with my mom and I still feel really bad for that and I still think to this day I don’t feel like I’m good enough for my mom,” she added. “I try to make her proud… she’s everything.”
Awww! We’re glad Gomez will have a younger sibling to love, especially after the recent stress in her life involving a determined stalker and boyfriend Justin Bieber’s baby mama drama. She’s also taking the time to relax over the holiday.
“Happy Thanksgiving!!!!! Spending the day with family and home cooked food,” she tweeted on Thanksgiving.
