Armani makes it a little easier to look like Rihanna

Pop star Rihanna and posh Italian fashion house Armani are collaborating on the singer’s first clothing line. Be on the lookout for RiRi’s limited-edition capsule collection to hit shelves by mid-December.

It just got a little easier to look like Rihanna — or at least dress like her!

Rihanna has always had a unique sense of style and now fashionistas everywhere can shop the look straight from the source. The Bajan diva, 23, is collaborating with Emporio Armani Underwear and Armani Jeans on her first fashion collection. Rihanna has created a hot new capsule line of denim and lingerie just in time for the holidays, the brand announced last week.

RiRi’s capsule collection features biker jackets, a canvas rucksack, two styles of jeans, t-shirts, lace underwear in navy blue and pearl grey shades and other easy-to-wear items that can be mixed and matched to create a number of different, stylish ensembles. Each design will be embroidered with Rihanna’s “R” logo in “Zorro- style” and the fashion house’s signature label, a stylized Armani eagle.

“I probably see a lot of menswear or something extremely, extremely feminine. But I like to play with both. It would have to be so extreme that it’s a look, because I don’t usually like typical ladylike, girly-girly stuff,” Rihanna explains of the theme behind her collection.

In July, Armani announced that the “Umbrella” hitmaker had been handpicked by brand creative director Roberta Armani to replace actress Megan Fox as the face and body of the label’s Autumn/Winter 2011-12 campaign. Rihanna, formally Gucci’s brand ambassador, shed her clothes for her first Armani underwear ads, shot in New York City, in September. The Grammy-winning songstress is featured posing in a lace bra, leather jacket and skintight skinny jeans on the hood of an antique car in the black-and-white snaps. She’s also a spokesperson for CoverGirl cosmetics, a gig she’s enjoyed since 2007.

Rihanna’s line of rock-inspired jeanswear and lingerie will be available to scoop up in select shops worldwide, as well as online at Armani.com, in mid-December.
