Taylor Armstrong agreed to let cameras into a marriage counseling session with her late husband Russell Armstrong — and what was revealed was very telling.
Last night on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills viewers were given a peek into a very private moment in a marriage: A counseling session between Taylor Armstrong and her late husband Russell Armstrong, shot shortly before he killed himself.
While skirting around the issue of the violence Taylor has said she suffered at her husband’s hands, she did hint at it, telling the counselor, “When Russell is good to me, it’s better than any other good I can imagine… [when he’s not,] it hurts more than anything in the world.”

Far from sounding like someone distraught enough to kill himself, Russell seemed to take accountability for his role in their problems and how he could help fix them — if you leave out that question of domestic violence, that is.
“The good news is, there’s nothing that’s happened in this marriage that’s so damaging that neither one of us cannot recover,” he said. “I know there are issues with me being absent because of work, or when I get angry… that’s when we argue.
“It’s not a nice process — you say things you don’t mean — the problem is that without the counseling, you’re going through life out of control.”
Sadly, that turnaround was never to be. Russell Armstrong was found dead in a friend’s home in August after hanging himself. In addition to Taylor, he left behind three children. Taylor quickly arranged a series of interviews in which she accused Russell of physically abusing her throughout their marriage and said she was afraid he was going to kill her before he killed himself.
