Kanye West leads the Grammy nomination pack

Nominations for the 54th Annual Grammy Awards were announced tonight and Kanye West was crowned nominee king, but who was right on his tail?

Kanye West was nominated for seven Grammys during Wednesday night’s Grammy Nomination Concerton CBS. Adele, Bruno Mars and Bon Iver ruled the show, however, landing noms in three of the four major categories unveiled during the live telecast. Among all this new blood, veteran rockers Foo Fighters also made a strong showing, landing six nods total, just like Adele and Mars.

Busy Kanye didn’t get much love from the general categories, landing just one nom in Song Of The Year, but he rocked his own genre, rap. He’s up against himself in the Rap Album category, landing noms for his solo comeback effort My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy and his more recent album with Jay-Z, Watch the Throne. He’s also nominated for Rap/Sung collab with Rihanna, Kid Cudi and Fergie, “All Of The Lights.”

Adele is “Rolling in the Deep” thanks to her album 21, which was one of the best-selling albums of 2011. Bruno Mars nabbed three noms for his love song “Grenade” and another three for the album, Doo-Wops & Hooligans. David Grohl’s Foo Fighters earned nominations for their album Wasting Light and the single “Walk.”

Lil Wayne and Skrillex tied with five noms. Drake, Nicki Minaj, Mumford & Sons, Radiohead, Rihanna and Justin Vernon (Bon Iver) and producers/songwriters Paul Epworth, Philip Lawrence and Ari Levine each receive four nominations.
