Michelle Duggar letting miscarriage happen naturally

Michelle Duggar says she is resting at home and will let the miscarriage happen naturally, without the use of medications.

Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar were heartbroken to learn that she had miscarried her 20th child, and now the family is coping at home.

Duggar, 45, said that her doctor recommended that she allow the miscarriage to happen without the use of medications that would cause her uterus to contract because of her previous emergency Cesarean when her daughter Josie, who is almost 2, was born.

“Our doctor said it was wise to let this miscarriage happen naturally,” she said. “And so that is what we are going to do.”

Duggar miscarried when she was 19 weeks and one day into her pregnancy. The miscarriage was diagnosed when they went in for a routine visit and no heartbeat could be found.

Her 20-year-old daughter Jill is actually studying to be a midwife and has been “keeping good track,” although Duggar admitted she felt like something was wrong last week. “On Dec. 3, I felt a little uncomfortable but I thought it was just something I’d eaten,” she said. “It could have been the beginning of something going wrong. I had my blood drawn yesterday, and it showed that my progesterone levels had dropped so something was not right [with the pregnancy].”

She said they do plan on having a funeral and will name the child once they find out the sex of the baby. “We will name this child and will know that we will see those children again someday in heaven.”

She is currently resting at home and her kids are taking good care of her. “The kids are mothering me now. Jill just brought me some food and they are taking good care of me,” she said.
