Britney Spears’ other ex-husband calls sham on engagement

Britney Spears‘ ex-husband has some choice words about her recently announced wedding plans.

Remember Jason Alexander?

No, not the guy from Seinfeld. We’re talking about the dude Britney Spears was married to for 55 hours back in 2004.

Yeah, that’s him!

It seems Jason is back in the headlines now that news of Britney’s engagement to former agent Jason Trawick is hot on the search engines.

Alexander seemingly makes a little extra cash for donuts and cigarettes by spilling the beans about his ex to the supermarket glossies once a year. This month, he let off a little steam to Us Weekly.

And he didn’t hold back.

The singer’s childhood friend told the mag he thinks Britney’s relationship with Trawick is a sham — an elaborate plot likely engineered by Papa Jamie Spears, who is conservator over the sometimes unstable star’s lucrative estate.

“I know everyone wants me to be happy about this, but I am not. I think it’s fake and I think people are afraid to say it,” Jason said.

“If you look at the pictures between them, there is no connection. They look like they are going through all the motions. Sort of a nice way to sew it all up, she marries her handler. That way she always has someone controlling her. It’s sort of sad.”

Sour grapes, anyone?

Should Britney Spears’ daddy let go of the purse strings? >>

That’s a much different reaction than the second Ex-Mr. Spears gave Australia’s TV Week on Monday.

“I’m really happy for her — I think he’s a great guy,” said Kevin Federline, who had two sons with the pop superstar before their divorce in 2007.

“She’s happy; she’s doing really well… I do know from the kids and talking to the kids’ teachers that they’re doing really good. It’s a step in the right direction.”

Trawick proposed during a dinner to celebrate his 40th birthday last Thursday night. The agent, who has been dating Spears since 2009, made the news official in a text to his friend and Access Hollywood’s Billy Bush.

“Yes, we are engaged,” wrote Trawick, adding that he was “over the moon” about the news.
