R. Kelly is gearing up for a big 2012: He wants to film 32 more installments of his classic hip hop opera “Trapped in the Closet.”
It looks like Santa Claus did receive our Christmas wish list this year: R. Kelly revealed that he’s planning another 32 chapters for his hip hop opera, “Trapped in the Closet.”
R. Kelly revealed the big bombshell yesterday after TMZ cameras caught up with him outside a Los Angeles gym. Sadly, he hasn’t started production on them because “It costs a lot of money to do… so we’re actually looking for investors.”
C’mon guys — can we put together a fundraiser for this?
It does look like R. Kelly is back in a big way after his appearance on TheX Factor finals Wednesday night.
“Ladies and gentlemen — I can’t believe I’m gonna say this — please help me welcome R. Kelly,” finalist Melanie Amaro said halfway through her version of “I Believe I Can Fly.”
Kelly had nothing but praise for his duet partner. “There’s no doubt in my mind: This girl is on her way to the moon,” he said.
Sadly, judge L.A. Reid didn’t see it the same way.
“That is one of the most important songs ever written, so you’re lucky to sing that with him,” Reid barked at Amaro. “It was great, but I expect more from you.”

Sorry, L.A. — we’re taking R. Kelly’s assessment over yours, especially since his “Trapped in the Closet” masterpiece helped two actors find love. According to TMZ, actors Rolando Boyce and LeShay Tomlinson, the couple that played cheaters Rufus and Cathy in the first 22 chapters , actually found love on the 2005 set and married in 2008.
Are they willing to reprise their roles in the next 32 chapters?
“We haven’t seen Robert in a few years,” Boyce told TMZ. “But we’d love to film with him again… especially after everything that happened to us because of the video.”
