The X Factor’s finale part one: Cowell-worthy ratings

Did you hear that? It’s the sound of Simon Cowell saying “I told you so” after seeing The X Factor‘s ratings from Wednesday.

So, good news and bad news. The good news is The X Factor‘s Wednesday night performance finale managed ratings worthy of Simon Cowell — the show topped all programming on Wednesday night. The bad news is the night itself was light, so is it really a big victory?

Chris Rene, Josh Krajcik and Melanie Amaro sang their little hearts out for a $5 million dollar contract on The X Factor Wednesday night, landing Fox the prime spot of number one in the ratings.

Ugh, Simon Cowell wins again!

The show managed to bring in 11.1 million viewers, according to a report via TheWrap, making it the most watched program of the night.

Simon Cowell began the season boasting big things for his new American baby — by baby we mean the show, of course — including the idea that The X Factor would “thrash” the competition, a.k.a. American Idol, as “the nation’s most-watched show.”

He recently addressed his miscalculations about the show and why he may have been a bit hasty. “I’m cocky by nature, but I’d come off a massive final in the UK, I had adrenaline, I couldn’t wait to put the show on here and it’s gonna take a little bit longer than I thought.”

Simon Cowell added of where he went wrong: “I learned that I’m not American — that was a big factor of where I got things right and where I got things wrong.”

There were tears (Rachel Crow), controversy (Stacy Francis) and moments that made us actually like the show (Chris Rene and “Young Homie”), but it all comes down to you, the fans.

Head over to our comments section and sound off over season one of The X Factor. Is season two on your agenda when it eventually returns or have you had enough?

We know you have an opinion, so why not use it?
