Sting’s wife says five-hour tantric sex claim is BS

The wife of Sting says that despite the decades-long rumors, they have sex for average lengths of time — not the five-to-six hours that he once claimed.

Five hours of sex? Just an average day for Sting and wife Trudie Styler, according to popular belief. Despite the rumor that started two decades ago, Sting’s wife says they have sex for the same amount of time everyone else does — besides, who has time for all that?

“Sting said that 21 years ago. He has just turned 60, and I imagine [the tantric story] will carry on going until he drops,” Styler told The Daily Telegraph.

“Do you know who I blame for that? Bob Geldof. Him and Sting had gone to do an interview with a rock journalist and the interview turned into a drinking session.”

“At one point, the journalist asked how long they could go for and Geldof said he was a three-minute man, but, as Sting did yoga, he could probably go for hours. And Sting said ‘Well, haven’t you heard of tantric sex?'”

“So Sting explained that it is all about being intimate, about caring for your partner, really engaging in intimacy before you, you know… have sex. And that’s the premise of tantra, really. It’s simply engagement with your partner.”

“The first I knew of it was when I read it. He had forgotten he had said it because he was completely rat-a**ed,” she explained. “At the time I thought it was very amusing, but then it sort of became a cause célèbre. The tantric hours got extended and, suddenly, I was doing it all day long. Well, if only!”

Sting married Trudie Styler in 1992, after living together for almost 10 years. The couple has four children together in addition to Sting’s two from a previous marriage to Styler’s former BFF, Frances Tomelty.
