So You Think You Can Dance axing results show!

Maybe competition reality shows are finally hearing our prayers. Fox has decided to cancel the results show portion of So You Think You Can Dance.

We’ve all watched a competition reality show at some point or another, wishing the results show would just end.

Well, Fox may have been thinking the same thing — what a coincidence.

Of course, Fox isn’t commenting that they, or viewers, are bored by the results show of So You Think You Can Dance, but why else would they be bringing down the axe on it?

Nigel Lythgoe, head judge and executive producer of SYTYCD, tweeted the news of the results show cancellation: “#FOX have cancelled the results show so I will have to change the format of #SYTYCD. At least we have another season at the end of MAY.”

He added of the big change, “Don’t worry #SYTYCD fans. I’m thrilled we have a new series. We’ll do our best to find some great talent starting next week in Atlanta.”

So if it’s not due to the results show process putting viewers to sleep, then why the cancellation of the results show?

Well, our So You Think You Can Dance sleuth skills tell us the season eight finale was down nine percent from the season seven finale in 2010. It’s all about the numbers — usually.

There’s no word on how the changes will play into the format, but it sounds like the show is going on as planned, with auditions starting this week.

Head over to our comments and tell us what you think of a competition reality show like So You Think You Can Dance not having a results show.

We know you have an opinion, so why not use it?
