Celebrities have boring New Year’s resolutions

Everyone from Kim Kardashian to Ashton Kutcher weighed in with their plans for 2012, whether we wanted to know or not.

Fess up: Have you broken your New Year’s resolutions yet? We have, though we admit that our resolution to not stare at pictures of Adam Levine all day pretty much guaranteed failure.

Still, our one broken resolution was a zillion times better than celebrity resolutions.

James Van Der Beek

Former Dawson’s Creek star James Van Der Beek is gearing up for his second go-round at fatherhood. Maybe we can blame his children for making him soft?

“Happy New Year! My resolution: To give everyone the benefit of the doubt. Imagine the world if we did that instead of rushing to judgment…” he tweeted of his new year plans. A better resolution would be to work on his crying face, ’cause we’re sure he still does the Dawson ugly cry.

Olivia Munn

Actress Olivia Munn copped out on her New Year’s resolution.

“My New Years Resolution: Reserve the word “amazing” for things that are actually *amazing*. Like: This bagel is really good, *not* amazing,” she tweeted.

On second thought, that one might be harder to keep.

Kim Kardashian

Last year brought a lot of Kim Kardashian with a terrible music video, an over-the-top wedding and an equally over-the-top divorce. So, what’s Kim planning for 2012?

“I want to be more simple in 2012,” she revealed.

We’ve got a better one — how about taking an extended vacation from the media?

Jenny McCarthy

Uber hot mom Jenny McCarthy is hoping for more sex in 2012.

“I’m going to #BeBold in 2012 by asking more guys out and not waiting for them to come to me,” she tweeted of her new plans. We don’t think you’ll have a problem keeping that one, Jen.

Ashton Kutcher

Newly single actor Ashton Kutcher is ready to put 2011 behind him.

“In 2012 let’s agree to a resolution to feel one another’s pain & joy, & create the peace we desire through proactive generosity. XO ak,” he wrote. His next resolution? To not tweet about Joe Paterno without reading a newspaper first.
