Beyoncé: Baby Blue Ivy was born naturally

Beyoncé and Jay-Z finally admit what we already knew: They’re the new parents of baby Blue Ivy Carter!

Did you hear that Beyoncé and Jay-Z became parents over the weekend? We understand — it didn’t really make the news so we’re not surprised you didn’t hear about it.

Okay, lame joke. Basically Bey and Jay broke the web with the arrival of baby Blue Ivy Carter on Saturday night. The couple’s celebrity friends broke the news first, but they finally confirmed the baby’s arrival Monday in an official statement.

“Hello Hello Baby Blue!” the couple wrote in the statement, first released on E! Online. “We are happy to announce the arrival of our beautiful daughter, Blue Ivy Carter, born on Saturday, January 7, 2012.”

The couple then cleared up the rumor that Beyoncé went through a c-section. “Her birth was emotional and extremely peaceful, we are in heaven,” they added in the statement. “She was delivered naturally at a healthy seven lbs. and it was the best experience of both of our lives.”

They didn’t address the other elephant in the room — whether or not they really paid $1.3 million for an entire floor at Lenox Hill Hospital. The hospital was adamant that they didn’t pay that amount.

“The suggestion that the couple paid $1.3 million to rent an entire maternity floor is simply not true. The family is housed in an executive suite at the hospital and is being billed the standard rate for those accommodations. Our executive suites are available for any patient, including the food service and amenities provided to the Carter family,” said hospital rep Frank Danza in a statement.

The hospital allegedly shut off the hallways to other new parents, according to one Brooklyn father.

“They just used the hospital like it was their own and nobody else mattered,” Neil Coulon told Fox News. “They locked us into the NICU [neonatal intensive care unit] and would say, ‘You can’t come out to the hallway for the next 20 minutes.’ When I finally was able to go back out, I went to the waiting room and they’d ushered my family downstairs!”

Another rep for the hospital said she never heard something like that had happened.

“We take patient satisfaction very seriously,” Anne Silverman told the New York Daily News. “This is the first time I’m hearing about it.”

We’ll never know what really happened, but we do know one thing: Baby Blue is the apple of her daddy’s eye.

“The most amazing feeling I feel; Words can’t describe the feeling for real; Baby I paint the sky blue; My greatest creation was you,” the hip hop superstar rapped in his new ode to his daughter, “Glory.”
