Grammy performers announced: Kelly Clarkson and more!

Kelly Clarkson, Foo Fighters, Bruno Mars, Nicki Minaj and Taylor Swift have been confirmed as performers at next month’s Grammy Awards in Los Angeles.

Kelly Clarkson is so visible right now we almost thought we’d hopped into a time machine and been transplanted back in September 2002!

Kelly is everywhere at the moment, isn’t she? Saturday Night Live, the Super Bowl, the Amazon digital sales chart (thanks to Ron Paul).

And now the “Behind These Hazel Eyes” hit-maker is amongst the first wave of performers announced for the 54th Annual Grammy Awards show. On Thursday, Grammy organizers confirmed that Kelly and crooner Jason Aldean will perform their duet, “Don’t You Wanna Stay,” during next month’s live broadcast.

Foo Fighters, Bruno Mars, Nicki Minaj and Taylor Swift have also been announced as part of this year’s Grammy performers’ lineup.

Setting foot on the Grammy stage for their first performances on the show are Aldean and Minaj — the outré femcee who dominated the hip-hop scene with her 2010 release Pink Friday.

Fearless songstress Swift returns to center stage for the first time since her performance at the 2010 show, when she also won the night’s biggest prize: Album of the Year.

Foo Fighters and Mars each earned six nods when the 2012 Grammy nominations were announced in November. Minaj boasts four noms. Aldean and Swift are each up for three awards. Clarkson and Aldean share the nomination for Best Country Duo/Group Performance for “Don’t You Wanna Stay.”

Will new mom Beyoncé perform at 2012 Grammys? >>

Missing from this first list of Grammy performers are nominee frontrunners Kanye West and Adele. There are also no updates about a potential showing by new mom Beyoncé. The “Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)” star is reportedly hoping to deliver her first post-baby performance at the annual prize-giving.

The Grammys will broadcast, live, from the Staples Center in Los Angeles on Feb. 12 (8-11:30 p.m., ET/delayed PT) on CBS.
