Betty White lauded at the People’s Choice Awards

Betty White is gearing up for the next 90 years with a standing ovation at the 2012 People’s Choice Awards.

Can we just declare Betty White as Queen of the World already? The 90-year-old actress is still everywhere these days, including the 2012 People’s Choice Awards. The spry White appeared on the show with her Hot in Cleveland co-stars to accept an award for “Favorite Cable TV Comedy.”

While on stage, co-star Jane Leaves wished the funny woman “a happy birthday next week.” The audience rose to their feet, giving her an extended ovation.

“Thank you with all my heart. But you don’t really accomplish anything — 90 just happens,” an emotional White joked to the audience.

It’s really hard to believe that she is actually 90— the former star of Golden Girls takes on more projects than women a third her age.

“I’m not only blessed with good health, but good energy,” she recently told the Vancouver Sun. “I can credit my folks for my genes. That said, I can’t get over that at this age, I don’t feel this age. I’m not trying to be any younger. I’m not lying about my age. If I were lying about my age, I would say I was 89.”

She’s even taking on a new Punk’d-esque project — Betty White’s Off Their Rockers — starting Jan. 16 on NBC. A star-studded tribute to White is also set to air on the network that night.

“I’m just at one of those good times in one’s life. There’ve been so many of those through those 90 years but, even so, I’m at one of the high spots. I’m healthy enough to enjoy it. I’m surrounded by friends I adore. Isn’t that kind of the best way to sign off?”

Oh Betty, never leave us.
