Susan Lucci is proving there’s life after soaps. The All My Children veteran has landed a few roles since the sudser was canceled, but her latest Investigation Discovery series is as close to soapy as it gets.
Thanks to her role as Erica Kane, Susan Lucci will fit right in at her next gig.
Susan Lucci has signed on to host and narrate Deadly Affairs on Investigation Discovery, a series that features real-life crimes of passion.
Susan Lucci revealed, “They are deceptive love relationships, love triangles and betrayal that have deadly consequences. And they end in tragedy.”
The iconic actress added, “Every day you hear these stories and you think, ‘Oh, my goodness!’ Then they disappear. You don’t know what happened next, and you don’t know why they happened.”
What is Susan Lucci ultimately hoping to get out of these stories?
She said, “I’m hoping that, in exploring them, we’ll shed some light on human nature.”
Lucci played the popular character of Erica Kane on the long-running soap All My Children from 1970 until this past September, so she knows a thing or two about love gone wrong.
She said, “As Erica, I got punished for my wrong deeds. I wound up in jail several times, even in a blood-stained ball gown. But with Deadly Affairs, these are not characters on a soap opera. This is real life.”
