Perhaps love isn’t sweeter the third time around. Not for Halle Berry, that is. Insiders with ties to the Oscar winner are putting the kibosh on reports that she is engaged to marry French actor Olivier Martinez.

Yesterday, Halle Berry was engaged to marry her French actor boyfriend Olivier Martinez.
Today, she isn’t.
On Wednesday, the blogosphere was set ablaze by reports that the Monster’s Ball star is set to tie the knot for the third time with Martinez, her beau of one year.
People magazine reported the scoop after receiving confirmation from the jeweler who allegedly designed the Oscar darling’s diamond and emerald “engagement ring.” Martinez, who met 45-year-old Berry on the set of the film Dark Tide in 2010, presented the star with the bauble over the holidays and she happily accepted, the celebrity bible reported.
The wedding news quickly engulfed the web, prompting additional reports and congratulatory tweets for other celebs. Even Australian pop star Kylie Minogue — who dated Martinez for five years before their split in 2007 — tweeted her congratulations to the hot couple.
Now TMZ claims that, while Halle was in fact spotted wearing a new ring in recent weeks, it isn’t the kind of ring everyone thought it was.

Sources say Olivier and Halle are in a “committed relationship” and marriage “could be in the cards.”
Just not yet.
Why Halle is wearing this “not engagement ring” on her engagement finger remains a mystery.
Publicists for the stars have not confirmed the People story, which was also reported by US Weekly magazine.
