Another day, another Kardashian family drama. Celebrity gossips have gotten their hands on evidence they believe proves that Kim Kardashian and her mother, Kris Jenner, staged a pivotal scene featured in last week’s episode of Kourtney & Kim Take New York. How much of the Kardashian reality franchise features — well — reality?
Breaking news! The Kardashian klan’s reality TV shows (brace yourselves) may not be so rooted in reality after all.
Isn’t that shocking? Aren’t you just so shocked?
(Insert eye-rolling here…)
The polarizing pop culture figures are under fire from fans of their E! programs, with viewers claiming Kim Kardashian and family matriarch Kris Jenner may have faked a key scene featured in a recent episode of Kourtney & Kim Take New York.
Critics of the reality stars believe the footage proves what they’ve been saying all along: Everything the Kardashians do on camera is totally fake.
You know, in case there was ever any doubt.
The scene, which sees Kim in the back of a limousine with her mother, features the two discussing Kim’s marriage and the socialite’s feelings about her now-estranged husband, Kris Humphries. But some viewers suspect the entire thing was staged — with the tinted car windows, lack of surrounding traffic noise and the overall sense of inauthenticity all suggesting the scene may not be entirely real.
Why would they bother?
Some have suggested producers edited the scene into the series after Kim and Kris’ ended their 72-day marriage, in a last-ditch bid to paint Kim in a sympathetic light.
“There’s something in my relationship that I just feel like isn’t right,” Kim tells her mother in the clip. “I’m just, like, learning a lot of things about him that I didn’t really know before.”

The footage was reportedly shot last October in the lead-up to Kim’s much-publicized divorce from her basketballer husband.
However! Kim and Kris were photographed exiting a TV studio in December wearing the exact same clothes they wore in the limo scene — that’s the story Radar Online is telling anyway.
And it isn’t just the clothes: The site has also gotten its hot little hands on photos that show Kim with the same hairdo and earrings. Kris’ assistant is seen holding the purple dress that she wore on camera.
Scandal!
Pretty conclusive, right?
Body language expert Barbara Pease sure thinks so. She analyzed the alleged “staged” footage of Kim and Kris. And her verdict isn’t very favorable toward the ladies.
?The Body Language of Love author says whether or not the scene was a set-up, Kim and her mother Kris Jenner are clearly not saying everything they’re thinking.
“The Kardashian video shows her mother as a poor actor, unable to contain her concealing smirk,” Barbara surmises. “Kim’s acting is a little better, but her delivery has a rehearsed sound to it — very stilted.”
?Barbara also points out the lack of closeness shown by the two as they discuss the breakdown of Kim’s marriage.
“There is no intimacy which could be expected here between mother and daughter in such an ’emotional’ conversation,” Barbara explains. “When Kim says, ‘I’m learning a lot about him…’ she is sitting perfectly still while her mother is bouncing up and down on her side of the road, an indication it took more than one take to get the ‘right’ answer.”
Barbara delivers a damning final assessment.
“If insincerity was put to music, this performance would be a symphony orchestra. The body language and answers are incongruent and contrived. FAIL!”
Jenner has refuted all claims that Keeping Up with the Kardashians and its series spinoff Kourtney & Kim are full of bologna. She argues that the daily goings-on of the family are vast enough to provide plenty of original material.
