The folks on Revenge need legal help and Courtney B. Vance is the man for the job. The TV veteran has landed a guest spot on the ABC drama where he’ll mix it up with Conrad and Victoria Grayson.
Guess who’s coming to Revenge? Fans of NBC’s Law and Order: Criminal Intent will get a kick out of the show’s latest guest star.
Courtney B. Vance has joined the cast and will rub elbows with the ruthless Victoria Grayson (Madeleine Stowe).
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Vance will play Victoria’s new attorney, Ben Barnett. He takes over her divorce and sets up a “war room” to ensure everyone knows what role they’ll play in her case.
Unlike Victoria’s previous attorney (who had his own agenda), Barnett means business. He’s described as a loyal employee who wants to get the job done. The character will debut in March, and stick around for four episodes.
Aside from Victoria’s marital woes, Barnett’s story will also tie into the beach murder that was shown in the series opener.
Vance is no stranger to TV dramas. In 2010, he starred in the short-lived ABC series FlashForward, where he played FBI assistant director Stanford Wedeck. Prior to that, he appeared on the aforementioned Law and Order: Criminal Intent for five seasons as ADA Ron Carver. As you can see, Vance has a history of playing lawmen. He knows what he’s doing.
Before returning to the small screen, Vance appears in the new musical Joyful Noise alongside Queen Latifah and Dolly Parton. The film centers on a church choir led by bickering directors, as they prepare for a national singing competition. Vance stars as a troubled pastor, stuck between the women.
Joyful Noise is currently playing in theaters everywhere.
Revenge airs Wednesdays at 10 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.
