Kim Kardashian: “I was just following my heart

Kim Kardashian continued her quest to repair her public reputation with an appearance as co-host on Live! With Regis and Kelly.

Kim Kardashian, like, really doesn’t understand why people are mad at her for ending her marriage to Kris Humphries after 72 days. The reality star co-hosted Live! With Kelly on Monday and told host Kelly Ripa that she was just following her heart.

“Being a hopeless romantic, I wanted to believe in something so badly. If you think I really made all that money that everyone claimed we made on the wedding and that it was for TV… I’m a smart businesswoman, I would have stayed married longer!” Kardashian told Ripa. “This was a bad business decision. I really didn’t think following my heart would create this much backlash.”

Kardashian was referring to the Boycott Kim petition created to target the companies that employ the Kardashians as spokeswomen. She claims she didn’t actually earn millions on her “fairytale” wedding, despite numerous reports to the contrary.

“I definitely tried everything I could [to save it], but also heard stories of people who had kids and stayed married for years and it didn’t end up working out,” she said. “I want babies and that forever love and if I felt in my heart that this wasn’t right, why wait years for the same result?”

Sunday night’s episode of Kourtney and Kim Take New York showed her seeking the guidance of her late father, Robert Kardashian.

“My mom and dad had four kids and they split up. I couldn’t even fathom it at the time but as I got older, I began to understand her a bit more,” Kardashian said. “Thinking of myself in that situation, if my mom had four kids and she was able to get out of a situation that she felt like didn’t fit her, I think anybody could.”

She reiterated that she still believes in true love, just not with her ex-husband.

“I just have to rewrite my fairytale,” she said.
